NOTE CIRCULATION

INCREASE IN UNITED KINGDOM OPINION IN FINANCIAL CIRCLES. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 18. A further, increase in the United Kingdom note circulation has brought tho total above the £650,000,000 mark, but financial circles still see no particularly disquieting inflatory implications, says the “Financial News.” Some commentators, however, say the increase in the country’s cash requirements is now due much less to an expansion of production than to a rise in wages rates, which arc regarded as purely an inflationary phenomenon. Some accept the opinion that the recent increase in taxation has probably not succeeded in curtailing spending by wage earners.
