NAZIS AT ODDS

GOERING UNDER HOUSE ARREST THREAT OF PARTY SPLIT. ACCORDING TO MOSCOW RADIO. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 18. The Moscow radio says that only Herr Hitler’s intervention prevented the Gestapo chief, Herr Himmler, from using incriminating material against Field-Marshal Goering. The announcer, quoting from “wellinformed sources,” added that Hitler was forced to act in order to avoid an open split in the Nazi Party. The Gestapo is closely watching Goering’s close associates, Herr Paul Koerner and Herr Kleiger, general manager of the Hermann Goering Industries. Goering himself is under house arrest and his removal from the active leadership has greatly dissatisfied the leading industrialists and financiers.
