SHOP DAY ON AUGUST 1. In order to carry on normal activities the Red Crosg Society in Masterton has receive® permission ,to carry out a shop day on August 1. Anyone desirous of assisting this worthy object is asked to leave parcels at the Red Cross Society Depot, Pages Buildings, or ’phone 2305. The normal activities carried out by the Red Cross Society are stated by the committee to include the making of. comforts for sick soldiers and sailors, assistance to St. John Ambulance Nursing Division, equipment for V.A.D.’s, and the supplying of wool for hospital comforts and comforts for distressed civilians. All this work is purely voluntary as the committees receive no salaries, honorariums or presentations from the funds so the Red Cross Society’s committee feels confident that it can expect public support for its normal activities on the shop day.
