WEDDING

WADHAM—THOMPSON. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very pretty wedding took place recently in St. Andrews Presbyteiian Church, Carterton, when Jean Aileen, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Thompson Carrington, was married to Gavin, son’ of Mr and Mrs F. Wadham, Clareville. ~ „. . The Rev. W. J. Coulmg was the ofticiating minister, and Mrs F. Bath presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wofe a trained gown of white embossed cloque, cut on Princess lines, with ruched sleeves, pointed over the hands. A beautiful veil (lent by a friend) fell softly from a halo of orange blossom and pleated tulle. She carried a bouquet of white cyclamen, freesias, winter roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by two maids, her sister, Miss Jessie Thompson (chief) and niece, Miss Clare Fulton. Their frocks of pink georgette over taffeta were rucked at the w r aist, and the semicrinoline skirts were- also deeply rucked and trimmed with blue rosettes. They wore little fiat hats composed of real flowers, and their bouquets were of pink carnations, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Mr R. J. Fisher carried out the duties of best man. During the signing of the register, Mrs B. K. Hills, Wellington (cousin of the bride) sang, “I’ll Walk Beside You.” As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with a lucky horseshoe by little Nancy Hills. After the reception,- which was held in St. Andrew’s Hall, Mr and Mrs G. Wadham left for the south, the latter wearing an ensemble of crushed strawberry wool angora, with teal blue accessories.
