PEACE INTRIGUE

OPENED BY THE NAZIS IN AMERICA MR LA GUARDIA’S EXPOSURE. PLAN TO GIVE HITLER DOMINATION. NEW YORK, July 14. The Mayor of New York, Mr La Guardia, addressing a group of South American educationists, said that Nazi peace proposals were submitted a few days ago to a peace movement in Washington by a representative of the German Government with instructions to try it out and prepare a foundation for its reception. He said that the plan envisaged a United States of Europe in which the various European countries would have autonomy except that Germany would supervise their economy and control their foreign relations. “You can readily see what a sham such a plan is, and how it would give Hitler absolute domination over all Europe,” Mr La Guardia added.
