Soviet Reports No Important Change ENEMY MECHANISED THRUST TOWARDS LENINGRAD MET BY SUCCESSFUL COUNTER-ATTACK LONDON, -Inly 14. Nothing appears in this afternoon’s Russian communique dealing with operations on the Eastern front to justify the more pretentious claims the Germans made on Saturday and repeated yesterday. Moscow says there were no large scale military operations last night and no important change in the situation. The Germans report an advance towards Leningrad by a mechanised division, but the Russians claim a successful counterattack in this area. The Germans claim a further advance on the upper reaches of the Dnieper and Dvina. A Russian communique states that 94 German planes were destroyed yesterday for a loss of 12 Russian machines. The Germans say they have sunk two Russian submarines and the Russians claim to have sunk two German submarines.
