IN SYRIAN ARMISTICE TALKS VICHY GIVES GENERAL DENTZ FREE HAND. SUSPENSION OF HOSTILITIES CONTINUES. LONDON. July 14. According to a Reuter message the Syrian armistice talks have been resumed and final confirmation of the terms is expected soon. It is reported that the Vichy War Office has authorised General Deniz to sign the agreement. In the meantime hostilities remain suspended. CAIRO COMMUNIQUE ANOTHER MEETING AT ACRE YESTERDAY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.25 a.m.) RUGBY, July 14. A Cairo communique states: "The Syrian armistice terms, which were initialled at Acre on July 12, are now being considered. A further meeting is taking place at Acre today, to consider the question oD signature. Meanwhile hostilities are suspended.”
ARMISTICE SIGNED AT ACRE YESTERDAY EVENING. LONDON. July 14. THE SYRIAN ARMISTICE WAS FORMALLY SIGNED AT 7.55 O’CLOCK THIS EVENING AT ACRE. General Sir H. M. Wilson signed for Great Britain and General Deverdillac for the Vichy Government. .
