HARRIER ACTIVITIES

KIATERE CLUB J training run. PREPARATION FOR PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. On Saturday under severe wintry conditions, a good number of runners of the Kiatere Harrier Club turned out for a solid training run. The trail, laid by J. Carter, proved to be of a very strenuous nature, and this, coupled with the extremely heavy going, provided the runners with some good training in preparation for the Wellington Provincial Championships. W. Teahan showed up well in the seniors and W. MacDonald and L. Francis also ran, well. In the junior grade N. Jacobsen showed he was quite at home in the heavy going and finished by a big margin from the other runners. G. Hayes performed consistently as did N. Dickel. D. Cunningham did well to finish such a strenuous run. Next week the club will hold a friendly run with members of the Masterton Harrier Club, starting from the Solway Showgrounds at 2.30 p.m.
