CARTERTON WIN AGAIN

WAIRARAPA UNION’S SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. THRILLING PLAY AT FEATHERSTON. Scoring a convincing win over Featherston, in one of the best inter-club matches seen in the Wairarapa for several seasons, Carterton established a sufficient lead to win the Rugby Union’s senior championship competition for the 1941 season. Although there are further matches to be played Carterton has such a lead in the championship that no other club can overtake them. If Featherston beats Gladstone next week, the former team will play off with Greytown for the position of runner-up. Red Star seniors showed a glimpse of their old form in their match with Gladstone and were unfortunate to be beaten by a narrow margin, in a hard game. Greytown drew with Masterton after a keen contest.
