ENEMY AIR RAIDS

SOME DAMAGE IN SUEZ CANAL AREA NUMBER OF CASUALTIES. CYPRUS ALSO BOMBED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. July 12. According to agency messages from Cairo, a Ministry of the Interior communique states that there was an air raid on the Suez Canal area in the early hours of this morning. A number of bombs were dropped, killing six persons and injuring 14, and causing some material damage. Alerts were also sounded in parts of the Delta. It is stated officially that the area around Nicosia, in Cyprus, was bombed by enemy aircraft on Wednesday evening. There were no casualties.
