FREE FRENCH FORCES

A SURPRISE FOR ITALIANS. It is not generally known that during the Allied attack at Massawa on April 10, the Free French forces took 3,786 prisoners. Among them were 360 officers. One company of the Foreign Legion alone took 500 prisoners. The Italians could hardly believe their eyes when they saw the French soldiers. Franco-British co-operation was complete, for the Fren'ch attack was preceded and supported by very fine work on the part of British artillery.
