NAZI THRUSTS
REPELLED AT ALL POINTS ACCORDING TO RUSSIAN COMMUNIQUE. DETAILS OF ENEMY LOSSES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 10. While the latest German communique gives no details of the recent fighting, a Russian communique, cabled last night, shows that all German attempts to break through have been, frustrated. The communique states: “ Our troops in the Otsrov region repulsed all enemy attacks and inflicted sever losses. “Stubborn fighting has continued in the Polotsk area and our troops are resolutely counter-attacking. “During battles in the Lepel area we destroyed a German motorised division and also took about 40 guns and a large quantity of transport. “Cur units in the Borisov sector seriously defeated enemy divisions. “We are sternly holding positions near Bobruisk. “Our troops in the Novograd-Volynsk area are checking the advance of large enemy forces. “We are resisting an enemy offensive in the Bessarabian sector. “Our Air Force yesterday afternoon destroyed about 100 enemy tanks and during the night we routed an enemy air formation. Thirty-three planes were destroyed. We lost five planes but all the crews were saved.”
