STUD FLOCK
DISPERSAL SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a very successful dispersal sale yesterday of the stud flock of Mr P. M. Compton, East Taratahi, who has sold his farm. These sheep came forward in good condition and met with a keen sale from a large attendance. Competition throughout was keen, especially on the younger ewes and ewe and ram hoggets. The flock was sold without a transfer, and the 2-tooth ewes mated with a stud Romney ram made to 39s 6d, the 4-tooths 35s and the older ewes 27s 6d. The ewe hoggets were keenly sought after and made from 2 guineas to £2 9s, while ram hoggets, which were sold in pens of ten or more, made from 3gns to Sijgns. A total clearance was effected under the hammer at prices which must be considered very satisfactory. The following list of our principal sales will indicate values: —2-th ewes r.w. R.R., 395, 39s 6d; 4-th ewes r.w. R.R., 355, 345, 31s 6d; 6-th ewes r.w.
