Prices of fruit and vegetables in the Wellington market are quoted as follows: — Grapes, 3s 4d to 4s 6d lb.; passion fruit, 15s to 34s a half case; grapefruit, N.Z., 6s to 15s a bushel case; lemons, Meyer, 6s to 10s a half case; Chinese gooseberries, 6s to 16s a half case; tree tomatoes, 6s to 11s a half case. Tomatoes, hothouse, Is 3d to Is 9d a lb.; beans, hothouse, Is 3d to Is lid a lb.; green peas, Is 5d a lb.; pumpkins, 3s 6d to 9s a sack. Potatoes, 10s to 15s a cwt.; onions, 10s to 14s a cental bag; kumeras, 2s 6d to 7s a sugar bag. Sprouts, Us to 28s a case; cabbage, 4s to 16s a sack; cauliflowers, 8s to 18s a sack; lettuce, 10s to 22s 6d a case; spinach, 13s to 23s 6d a case; silver beet, 2s 6d to 6s a case; marrows, 3s to 4s 9d a case. Leeks, 9s to 12s 9d a case; parsnips, 7s to Us a case; swedes, Is Gel to 3s a case; beetroot, 3s to 5s 6d a case; carrots, 4s 6d to 7s 9d a case; celery, Auckland. 14s to 19s 6d a case, local 4s to 8s; rhubarb, 10s to 21s a dozen bunches.
