STATE THEATRE
“LET'S MAKE MUSIC.” America's master of swing rhythm Bob Crosby, and his famous Dixieland Band, appear in “Let’s Make Music,” which will be shown tonight at the State Theatre. Like Kyser, Bob Crosby also plays the role of himself, leading his orchestra, the Bobcats and the Bobolinks through a brightly romantic comedy in which a small town spinster teacher becomes the toast of New York night clubs and her pretty niece becomes the band leader's No. 1 heart interest. Jean Rogers as the girl, and Elisabeth Risdon as the elderly adventurer in Manhattan are featured in leading roles. It is a most appealing picture and full of catchy music, being the proper- tonic for these war days. How a young, fast-shooting cowboy’s resourcefulness saves the life of a hard-working gold prospector, and his wife and pretty daughter- from ruin, is .the exciting theme of “The Fargo Kid,” the second feature, in which Tim Holt plays the title role. The film has to do with the thrilling adventures of a cowpuncher who is mistaken for a notorious killer.
