WORK FOR WAR CHARITIES

(By Telegraph.—Press Association —Copyright! 1 (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON. July 8.

“I have come home to sing for victory.” said Grade Fields, on her arrival from America. “I am going to sing for the^ fighting men, munition workers and air raid shelters —in fact to sing for everybody." She-, added that she had not come home to argue with people who had criticised her. She had been doing her bit for the British. A fresh circuit of war charity concerts had been arranged in the United States and Canada, but her husband said she should go home and sing among her people. Miss Fields has raised more than £75,000 for British war charities in the United States and Canada.
