REGENT THEATRE
, “ONE NIGHT IN THE TROPICS.” Tonight a fast-moving and colourful romantic comedy, "One Night in the Tropics,” will be shown. From its beginning in New York City to its wind-up on a tropical isle, “One Night in the Tropics” manages to combine neatly the finest of popular music, hilarious comedy and romance. The story of the film presents Allan Jones as a young insurance man with Robert Cummings as his best pal. Cummings is engaged to marry Nancy Kelly, but his ex-girl friend, Peggy Moran, proves a stumbling block to the marriage plans. Romantic mix-ups which ensue when Jones sells Cummings a milliondollar “love insurance” policy provide the basis for numerous comedy complications. Bud Abbott and Lou. Costello, famous team of stage and radio, make a film debut, in “One Night in the Tropics.” Mary Boland, Leo Carrillo and William Frawley are importantly cast and deliver their usual bright performances. The featurettes include the latest Air Mail News.
