ESPERANTO

MASTERTON CLUB MEETING

There was an excellent attendance of members at the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club held last evening. Mr W. J. Beresford presided.

The secretary (Mr W. 11. King) conveyed the congratulations of the New Zealand Esperanto Association on account of I he club’s solid support to the Esperanto movement in the Dominion, the club being the only one in 'the country which can claim 100 per cent of its members to be also members of the parent organisation and subscribers to the all-Espcranto monthly magazine, “La Interna Idco,” published at Wellington. The club vice-president, Mr N. Lamont, presented an original article in Esperanto, entitled “Post Milita Rckonstruado cn Nov-zelando” (Post War Reconstruction in New Zealand). This proved to be exceedingly interesting and arrangements are in hand for its republication in “La Interna Ideo.” Reading and translation were undertaken with a view to developing spoken. Esperanto and this was further encouraged and practised by members participating in a series of short impromptu talks on selected subjects.
