FLUTTERING BESIDE UNION JACK ON LONDON BUILDINGS. MEMORIAL TO AIRMAN UNVEILED. (By Telegraph—Press Association. —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 4. The Stars and Stripes are fluttering from public and private buildings in London today to an extent, not seen before. In many cases they arc beside the Union Jack. The American Ambassador to Britain, Mr Winant, attended the unveiling, by the Air Minister, Sir Archibald Sinclair, in a crypt in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 'of a tablet to the memory of Pilot Qfficer Fiske, the first American citizen to give his life for Britain since the outbreak of war. Mr Winant later presided at the American Society’s luncheon, at which the menu, within ration limits, featured American dishes. The Secretary ot State for Scotland, Mr* Ernest Brown, was the guest of honour and those present included the New Zealand Prime Minister. Mr P. Fraser.
