“SHOP DAY” A SUCCESS. The monthly meeting of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, and the bring and buy effort were held in the Rest Room, King Street, Masterton, on Wednesday. The shop was a great success, a very satisfactory sum being raised. The money is to be used to buy wood for the Mercantile Marine. Mrs Gawith spoke of the necessity of members of the Division taking a course of training in laundry and kitchen work (jit the Masterton Hospital. The committee arranged to send a number of parcels to lonely soldiers overseas. For the next meeting and shop day a competition was arranged—- " The best bar of home-made soap.”
