STRUCK AT ENEMY PORTS IN LIBYA R.A.F. BOMBING ATTACKS START GREAT FIRES. DIRECT HITS ON MERCHANT VESSELS. LONDON, July 3. Heavy attacks on enemy objectives in Cyrenaica and Tripolitania were made on Tuesday night by the R.A.F. At Tripoli, direct hits were made on merchant vessels, which appeared to catch fire. Other fires also broke out there and at Benghazzi and Gazala. At the latter place four fires became united into one large blaze which was visible 70 miles away. One British aircraft is missing from all operations in the Middle East. An unidentified enemy aircraft was shot down over Tobruk.
