LONDON, July 3. The German penetration in the Minsk area is on a ro^ front than has been supposed. The Russians may be threatened by a new attack from the northern limits of Rumania. German and Rumanian troops yesterday, it is reported, crossed the R Pruth and are advancing towards Russia s second line oi defence, on the River Dniester. . German radio broadcasts speak of the obstinate resistanc of Russian troops. In south-east Poland the German advance is hampered by snowstorms. ' Two types of Russian tanks have evidently made a great impression on the Germans. One is said to be of enormous dimensions and to be impervious to the fire of anti-tank guns. The Bremen radio describes how many Russian units are retiring far into the woods and conducting guerilla warfare. In reply to the Russian decision to carry out a policy of devastation in the path of the invaders, the Germans state that not, a grain of food will be given to the inhabitants m districts m which the food has been destroyed.
