LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION
MASTERTON COUNCIL MEETING
A meeting of the council of the Masterton branch of the League of Nations Union was held at the residence of Mrs I. E. Dodds. There were present: Mesdames T. R. Barrel’ tin the chair), I. E. Dodds, N. Miller, Engstrom, Misses S. Tankersley and O. lorns, the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich, Messrs Esler and Wadham. Mrs Dodds and Mrs Miller were appointed to represent the branch at a meeting of the Red Cross Society tomorrow in connection with the staffing of emergency hospitals. As Mr J. D. McMillan, Director of the Economic Research Association was addressing the League of Mothers on Wednesday, July 16, it was decided to invite him to speak at a further gathering open to the public at. the Y.M.C.A. on the evening of the same day. A motion of sympathy to the relatives of the late Dr. J. A. Cowie, vice-patron, of the branch, was passed, members standing in silence. Two new members were co-opted to the council.
