STRUCK BY BOMB

GNEISENAU SEVERELY DAMAGED AND 128 OF CREW KILLED. REPORT FROM OCCUPIED FRANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. June 28. According to information received in New York from Occupied France, in a recent R.A.F. raid on Brest the German battle-cruiser, Gneisenau was severaly damaged and 128 of the crew killed. A heavy bomb struck the Gneisenau amidships, causing an explosion and a fire. Some time previously she had been slightly damaged but had been put in dock and repaired.
