CLEARING SALE AT HUKANUI. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-oper-ative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the sale held on account of Mr Harry Taylor. Hukanui, as follows: —The dairy stock came forward in good condition. and a lota! clearance was effected under the hammer. Bidding was most spirited throughout, and while the top price paid was £ll 10s, the whole herd of in-calf cows averaged £lO 2s 6d. Sundries and implements were also most satisfactorily disposed of. Quotations: —July and August calvers, £ll 10s. £ll, £lO 10s to £10; September calvers, £ll, £lO 10s. £lO to £9 10s; later calvers, £9 10s, £9 ss, £9, £8 10s to £8; empty cows, £4 to £2 10s. Breeding sows, £5 10s to £3 ss. Sundries: Milk cans (good order). £5 to £4 10s; smaller sorts, 30s to 20s; separator, £l4; water heater, £5 15s; tumbler hay sweep, £4 10s: hay rake, £ll.
SALE AT EKETAHUNA
GOOD VALUES REALISED FOR HEIFERS. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their weekly sale held at Eketahuna yesterday:—A good entry of springing heifers on account of several local farmers came forward, but unfortunately through the inclement weather conditions the attendance was small. Nevertheless, prices for good forward springing heifers were good. A line of three-year-olds on account of Mr H. B. Hansen realised £9, and another attractive line of 2 and 3-year-olds on account of Campbell Raleigh made from £7 10s to £8 for 2-year-olds, and £9 for 3-year-olds. Laie calving sorts were not keenly sought after, and these made £7 10s.
