.MASTERTON SALE A GOOD YARDING. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their Mastertbn sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep came forward and prices were on a par with late rates. Quotations: — Sheep: Fat wethers, 22s 9d. 23s 6dj 24s to 24s 4d; fat ewes, 9s 9d, 10s 9d, 12s to 13s; fat hoggets, 20s, 20s 6d to 21s; woolly wether hoggets, to 18s 4d; shorn wether hoggets, to 14s 4d; small b.f. hoggets, 10s, 10s 3d to 13s 9d; f.m. ewes r.w. S.D. ram, I3s 3d to 13s 6d; store ewes, 7s to 7s 6d. Cattle: Jersey cow just calved, to £7 12s 6d; 2nd calver, due September, to £8; forward Jersey cows, £3 10s to £4 ss. Horses: 4-yr. hack, broken to saddle, to £2l; 4-yr. hack, broken to saddle, to £9 10s.

SALE AT ADDINGTON SHARP ADVANCE IN PRICES. BETTER VALUES FOR FAT SHEEP (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 25. Addington markets today were firm with sharp advances in prices in some cases. Fat sheep sold at advanced values for a small entry, and fat cattle sold under keen competition Notwithstanding a large entry, store lambs were in demand. Porkers advanced in value. Fat sheep opened at up to 2s a head dearer, and in the final stages went to 4s. Good wethers made 29s to 325, tops to 34s Gd, medium to good 26s to 28s Gd, inferior down to 225; good ewes 21s to 245, tops to 28s. Six hundred fat cattle were penned, including good-quality lines which sold under keen competition. One line of 25 prime bullocks averaged £l7 19s, the tops making to £l9. Odd to good sorts ranged from £l5 10s to £l7, medium £l3 5s to £l4 10s, and secondary down to £lO 10s. Best heifers sold to £l4. and cows to £l3 10s, with inferior down to £G 10s and £6 respectively. Porkers improved by 2s a head, but baconers showed little change, except for heavyweights, which were a shade easier. Porkers made from £2 2s 6d to £3 7s Gd, an average price a lb of 71d to BAd, and baconers £3 2s 6d to £4 19s 6d, an average price a lb of to 7d.
