GOLF CLUB DRAW FOR MEDAL ROUND. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the draw for a medal round: From No. 1 tee: Knutson and Johanson; Brown and Booth; A. Personal Items. Mr C. Eaton, of Hamilton, is a visitor to Carterton. Among the war casualties published yesterday is the name of Driver Trevor H. B. Turley, of Martinborough. He is . well known in Carterton, an aunt being Mrs O’Donnell, High Street, Carterton. “Parcel Evening.” In honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Carter, a ‘-parcel evening" will be held in the Belvedere Schoolroom tomorrow night. For Patriotic Funds. An enjoyable time is assured those who intend to be present at the dance and euchre party to be held in the Parkvale Hail, on Saturday night. These functions are always popular and as the proceeds are to be devoted to patriotic purposes, there should be a large attendance. Mrs Ashton’s orchestra will. provide the dance music and good prizes will be given in the euchre tournament.
Boy Scouts. The weekly card party of the Boy Scouts was held last evening when there was a fair attendance. The prizes „ were won by Mrs J. Hooper, Mrs Edwards, Mrs Bradbury and Miss G. Hodder, Terminating Building Society. Mr Gordon Hughan presided at a meeting of the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society in the absence of the chairman, Mr L. H. Smart, who is on ..hpliday. Ballots for £l2OO in equal •■'/■turns of £6OO were won by Messrs W. d Wilson (Wellington), and A. R. Wills (Wellington). The £3OO for sale by tender resulted in Mr W. Feast (Masterton) being successful. Ladies’ Golf. The following is the draw for the L.G.U. medal round: —Mrs Callender v. Mrs Colson; Mrs Candy v. Mrs Harrington; Mrs Moroney v. Miss Campbell; Miss Berrill v. Mrs Murray; Mrs Johansen v. Mrs Orr; Miss Smart v. Miss B. Freer; Mrs Forbes v. Miss I. Corlett; Mrs Robinson v. Miss J. Orr; Miss Lamb v. Miss Armstrong; Mrs Court v. Miss Peters; Miss V. Corlett v. Miss Hamer; Miss Lawrence v. Mrs Nix; Miss Lindop v. Miss Z. Freer; Mrs Hasty v. Mrs Knowles; Mrs Martin v. Miss P. Bredin. Mrs Court and Miss Peters will be in charge of the afternoon tea arrangements.
