FOOD SCARCITY
9 INTENSIFIED IN BELGIUM. BY NAZI ATTACK ON RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. June 25. The correspondent of "The Times'’ in Belgium says that one result of the German offensive against Russia will be a complication of the German problem of feeding Belgium. Officials responsible for the welfare of the Belgians had reached an agreement with Russia under which they expected to receive large quantities of Russian wheat. The first deliveries were eagerly awaited and it was hoped that the poor quality of the Belgian bread would be improved. The German controlled newspapers have hitherto praised the wisdom of the Russian-German understanding which would enable Belgium to be fed despite the British blockade. Now for the first time it is hinted that Russian wheat might not reach Belgium.
