ACCORDING TO LEADER OF OPPOSITION COMMENT ON LABOUR PARTY STATEMENTS. PREPARATIONS FOR CONTEST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 25. "In view of repeated announcements by the official organ of the Labour Party that there will be no National Government, and the fact that these announcements have not been questioned either by the Acting-Prime Minister of any other Minister, and in view of the preparation we know the Labour Party tc be making. I can reach no other conclusion than that an election this year is certain." said the Leader of the Opposition. Mr Holland, today. Mt Holland is in Auckland in the course of a tour of National Party branches, and today he met candidates chosen to contest Auckland seats. Mr Holland said the National Party had done everything it could to bring about an amalgamation, but every proposal had been rejected, and the Labour organisation had adopted resolutions opposing a national Government. In view of his conclusion that an election would be held, he was visiting the various branches of the National Party making election preparations.
