IMPROVED BY NAZI-SOVIET BREAK. GENERAL SIKORSKI'S VIEW. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. June 23. Poland’s; standpoint in the face of the sudden onslaught by Germany against Russia was outlined in a speech tonight by the Polish Premier, General Sikorski, after consultation with his Cabinet. General Sikorski stated that the shattering of the Nazi-Bolshevik relations was very favourable to Poland. Germany had torn asunder the alliance which for so long had been the source of Poland’s greatest misfortunes, he said. The Polish-Russian dispute. he believed, might disappear from the international politics. The Polish nation was entitled to assume that Russia would cancel the pact with Germany of 193!) which countenanced the dissolution of Poland. General Sikorski added that today “fighting Poland" was on the side of Britain and the free Polish forces in Britain and Africa, and he stressed the importance of the fact that throe days ago Mr Roosevelt, signed a Bill placing Poland on the official list of nations actively engaged in the war and possessing the right to share under the Lease and Lend enactment.
