CLEARING SALE. KEEN COMPETITION AT PARKVALE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on behalf of the estate of the late E. James at Parkvale yesterday. The cows were a first class lot, all being in excellent condition, and calving dates and butterfat records were given. The sale attracted a very good attendance and bidding was free throughout. The best cows elicited very keen competition and top grade cows made £l5. The grade herd averaged £ll Bs. Several pedigree Jerseys were included in the offering and made up to £l6 16s. Springing 2-yr. heifers made up to £l2 ss, and averaged over £lO for the line. Pedigree yearling Jersey heifers made up to 6gns. and the grades, £4 ss. Sows to farrow, £5. A few sundries were offered and made good values.
