REGENT THEATRE

“WYOMING.” Wallace Beery swashbuckles through battle, raids and thrills, and turns comedian in his funniest romance since “Min and Bill” in “Wyoming,” his latest outdoors adventure drama, which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. He plays Reb Harkness, former desperado who, to protect a young girl and small child, becomes champion of law and order in a primitive wilderness, breaking up a gang of desperadoes, aiding General Custer, fighting Indians. He plays comical court to Marjarie Main, as the "lady blacksmith" of the town and engages in other comedy with Leo Carrilo. Some of the finest scenes are between Beery and little Bobs Watson, who enacts the orphan Beery protects. Ann Rutherford has the young romance angle of the story with Lee Bowman, who plays Custer’s young lieutenant. Paul Kelly enacts Custer, made up to duplicate this historic figure. The featurettes in support are excellent, the latest Air Mail including the latest from London and Egypt. A splendid variety number and an outstanding scenic of famous old English taverns complete the programme.
