“TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME.” “Tall, Dark and Handsome,” which will be shown tonight at the State Theatre, has laughs, excitement, romance, grand music and a top-notch featured cast headed by Cesar Romero, Virginia Gilmore, Milton Berle and Charlotte Greenwood. Funny as it is throughout, the new film has riproaring drama, and a fine romance between suave Cesar Romero and lovely Virginia Gilmore, a newcomer who appears to be going places fast on the' screen. With emphasis on the unexpected, “Tall, Dark and Handsome” is a real entertainment package. Things start happening with the rapidity ot Tommy-gun fire when the dapper, big shot gangster, Cesar Romero (who hasn’t the heart to kill), is attracted to Virginia Gilmore, a department store nursemaid. Posing as a “father,” Cesar induces Virginia to take a job as nursemaid in his palatial home. Cesar is taken for a “ride” .... but lives to watch his own funeral! AU the men he has “rubbed out” come to life and in a madcap finish he gets his adversary put behind bars. The features, “Fighter Pilot” (Ministry of Information number), “Rupert the Runt” (Animated Terrytoon), Sports Review and the latest overseas News. Tomorrow night will see the presentation of the thrilling life story of Irene and Vernon Castles, the famous dancers, in which is introduced many of the songs sung by the soldiers in the Great War.
