DUMB DISCIPLINE
DEMANDED IN ITALY CRITICISM OF ANY SORT PROHIBITED. REFERENCE TO SPEECH BY OFFICIAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, June 20. Apparently as a sequel to an outburst of criticism in Italy, the “Messagero” warns that discipline must not be undermined. Every speech or gesture which might disaffect the public spirit, it says, is criminal. The paper alludes to a recent speech by the Secretary of the Fascist Party, and says: “There must be no speaking against the governing' classes, nor criticism of any sort.”
