A tunnel to ease traffic congestion to the eastern suburbs is to be built from Sydney's famous cosmopolitan square. King's Cross. A number of shops and homes will have to be demolished for the resumption of land at the entrance to the tunnel, which will be fitted during construction as an air-raid shelter to accommodate 9000 persons.
