FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A successful euchre party was held in the Red Cross Society's rooms yesterday afternoon. Miss Eva Card being the winner. Competitions were won by Mrs Stan Benton and Miss Card. The hostesses were Mrs Carlyon and Miss Goodrich. Personal. Mr and Mrs S. G. Grant left today on a visit to Napier. WAR SERVICE WOMEN'S AUXILIARY. Keen interest is being taken in the Pahautea-Kahutara Women’s War Service Auxiliary. The drill, which is taken by Mr Nunn, is well attended and on alternate Mondays there is folk dancing. The Transport Corps is doing good work. Messrs Bidwill and Pearce giving the lectures. Many women are interesting themselves in the forming of a cycling corps, which it is hoped to bring into operation shortly. The members of the transport service are taking First Air lessons under the direction of the Red Cross Society. Mr Pottinger is the lecturer for the Red Cross Society’s hygiene class, the students being keenly interested.
