AIR LOSSES
NEARLY TWO TO ONE AGAINST AXIS. IN WEEK ENDED ON JUNE 14. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, June 15. The ratio of Axis air losses to British during the week ended at dusk on June 14 is nearly two to one. The week's operations included many massive British raids on Germany, particularly in the Ruhr and German-occu-pied. territory, while German raids on Britain wore relatively light. The German. losses over Britain were fourteen (ten at night and four in the day). The R.A.F. loss over Britain was one plane. German losses over Germany and German-occupied territory were 8 and R.A.F. losses 27. Middle East Axis losses in the air were 34 and on the ground 20. R.A.F. losses were 18. In addition his Majesty's ships destroyed two German planes and probably destroyed another. It is also announced that four enemy planes were destroyed, by naval aircraft, during the withdrawal from Crete.
