NAVY LEAGUE
LADIES' AUXILIARY. MEETING IN MASTERTON. A well-attended meeting of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the local Navy League was held on Tuesday, Mrs S. R. Gawith presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdamcs W. H. Robicson. W. R. Birch, P. J. Borthwick and J. C. Forsyth and Miss McLaren. It. was reported that there had been a very good response Jo the appeal for reading matter, clotmng, etc., lor the Mission to Seamen. Six large parcels had been forwarded to the Missioner and some gifts that were too late for the last packing will be forwarded on Friday. The wool committee reported that three men in the Navy and one who was going overseas to join the Fleet Air Arm had been given woollen garments. It was stated, that 95 garments would be packed for forwarding to Wellington after the meeting. The food committee subsequently packed several cases of tinned foods.
