GOLF CLUB HUME MEMORIAL CUP COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The second round of the William Hume Memorial Cup competition was played on Saturday in fine weather. As a result of the recent rain the fairways were heavy, but the greens were in fairly good order. The most notable incident in the afternoon's play was the good net score registered by G. Sutherland, who has now a lead of four points, with one round to go. Sutherland, who is playing consistently, will be hard to head off. N. Hume, whose previous displays have elicited favourable comments, could no nothing right. S. Thomas improved on his previous round, as did Riwai. These two players .will be Sutherland’s most dangerous opponents. The following were the cards handed in:—G. Sutherland. 84, 17, 67; S. Thomas, 91. 19. 72; J. Riwai, 86, 12, 74; H. Carter, 102, 24, 78; M. Herangi, 94, 13, 81; R. Lovegrove, 108, 27, 81; T. Hume, 96, 15, 81; N. Hume, 110, 24, 86. The final round for the Hume Memorial Cup will be played on Saturday. The first round for the Campbell Cup will be played in conjunction with the final round for the Hume Cup. The ladies will play the first round for the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Personal Items.
