PARTY CAUCUSES
HELD IN WELLINGTON YESTERDAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A wide range of subjects was covered at a caucus of the Parliamentary Labour Party yesterday, stated the Acting-Prime Minister, Mr Nash. The caucus met in the morning, and continued for three hours and a half last night. Mr Nash said that every political subject under discussion in the past month had been reviewed. No decision had yet been made regarding the date of the Waitemata by-election. Mr Nash also stated that it was decided to send messages of goodwill to the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, to Lieutenant A. G. Hultquist (Bay of Plenty), and'Lieutenant C. F. Skinner (Motueka), both of whom arc serving with the N.Z.E.F. A message was also sent to Mr H. T. Ratana (Western Maori), who is indisposed, and a resolution of sympathy in the death of Captain W. J. Lyon was adopted, members standing' in silence. An appropriate message is to be sent to Mrs Lyon and family. The Opposition also held a caucus last night. The Leader, Mr Holland, said that questions to be raised in secret session today, and the course the Opposition is to take in the Imprest Supply Bill debate later in the week were fully discussed.
