Welch. Taupiri. i Mrs P. Quinn, of Shannon, is thc| guest of Mrs Peter Beech. Makomako. Mr and Mrs A. Tinsley, of ‘Tailmata," Waihakeke. are spending a holiday in Napier. Mrs Thomas, Tauranga. is the guest of her sister. Mrs W. Marchbank, Cambridge Terrace. Masterton. Colonel and Mrs R. St. J. Deere, of Wellington, were visitors to Masterton during the weekend. The death occurred recently of Mrs Armitage, wife of Mr W. F. Armitage. Mill Road. Otaki. Mrs Armitage was born in Yorkshire 7.9 years ago. and has resided in New Zealand for more than 50 years. She and her husband first took up residence in Petonc. Later Mr and Mrs Armitage moved to ; Lower Hutt and 18 years ago made their home in Otaki. Throughout her residence in New Zealand, Mi's Armitage was an ardent supporter of the Methodist Church. The death has occurred at the resi- • dence of her daughter. Mrs D. Drummond, Hastings, of Mrs Edith Mary • Carman, at the age of 83. Mrs Car- 1 man lived at Waituna West, in the • Feilding district, before going to ■ Hastings six years ago. Her husband, who predeceased her some years ago, 3 was well known as chairman of the ' Kiwitea County Council for many ■' years, chairman of the Counties’ Asso-: elation executive, and chairman of ( the Palmerston North Hospital Board.
