EARLY SETTLERS

PARTY TOMORROW AFTERNOON. Old settlers of the district residents of fifty years’ standing and over, are being entertained tomorrow by the Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand Founders’ Society, at a gathering to be held in the Masterton Y.M.C.A. rooms, commencing at 2.30 p.m. An attractive programme has been arranged. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, will open the proceedings. Mr Cheviot 8011, president of the Wellington Founders’ Society, who will be among the guests will be one of the speakers. A Maori speaker will also relate incidents in the early days. Musical items will be given and afternoon tea provided.
