MAN POWER COMMITTEE

SITTING IN MASTERTON. A sitting of tlie Man Power Committee was held in Masterton this morning when appeals relating to Territorial service were heard. The committee comprised Messrs T. Jordan (chairman), F. Cole and L. T. Daniell. z'in appeal by William G. Parker (Mr S. V. Gooding) on the ground of public interest was adjourned sine die. The Champion Bakeries (Mr S. V. Gooding) appealed against the calling up of Lionel Bryce Welch on the grounds of public interest and undue hardship. The appeal was dismissed subject to the reservist not being called up prior to September 1, 1941. Robert Donald (Mr S. R. Gawith) appealed on behalf of Keith 11. WifTen on similar grounds. The appeal was dismissed, subject to the reservist not being called up prior to January 1, 1942.'
