AWARD OF D.F.C.

FLYING OFFICER G. E. WESTON. OLD BOY OF WAITAKI & LAWRENCE HIGH SCHOOLS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Air Headquarters in Wellington confirm that a D.F.C. has been awarded to Flying Officer George Ernest. Weston. Particulars of this award were cabled in March, but the Air Ministry records did not reveal Flying Officer Weston’s association with New Zealand. He was born in Peterborough. England, and educated at the Waitaki Boys’ High School and the Lawrence District High School. Prior to his appointment to a short service commission, he was employed in the Public Works Department at Wellington. His next of kin is Mr G. Weston, Lawrence.
