BUILDING SOCIETY
WORKMEN'S FRIEND NO. 2. APPROPRIATIONS BY SALE AND BALLOT. An extraordinary general meeting of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building! Society was held last evening, Mr WilI liam Kemp presiding over a fair attendance of members. A ballot was held for the appropriation of £4OO. Messrs A. V. Dixon, A. E. Hubbard and J. A. Russell were appointed scrutineers. The winning number fepresented shares held by Mr H. A. Orman, 33 Kingwood Street. Palmerston North, who was declared entitled io the appropriation. An appropriation of £4OO by sale was also held. Messrs L. G. and A. C. Grimes, of Mastertoil, being the successful tenderers, who were declared entitled to the appropriation. Subsequent to lhe extraordinary general meeting, a meeting of directors was held, Mr Kemp, chairman, presiding. Also present were: Messrs T. B. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, E. 11. Morton, C. W. Walker, E. J. Bt-cwn. A. E. Hubbard. S. M. Gilding and H. L. Price. 'lhe financial report as presented by lhe secretary was confirmed. A valuation of a property for a recent appropriation was received and found to be in order. The secretary was instructed to advise the society's solicitors to prepare the necessary documents. An application for the transfer o>' font' shares was approved. The secretary reporteu that since the last meeting an appropriation had been repaid and that action had been taken regarding certain members in arrears. Il was resolved that the share list of the society be now closed.
