Colonel Knox (Secretary for the Navy i disclosed that the Navy had offered. to train air pilots as well as the Army. The initial Navy contingent of pilot trainees would be 3.000. Colonel Knox attended a secret session ol the Senate Naval Affairs Committee , which is considering a Bill to prohibit photographs and sketches of naval objects. Colonel Knox said later that the Japanese arc photographing United States naval yards and vessels and legal restraints therefore are necessary. The Wai' Department has created a new inspection service, designed to protect the plants and Government property against accidental or intentional. damage likely to retard defence production.
