Tile week ended on June 2 was an expensive one for Axis shipping. As well as the battleship Bismarck, which was sunk on May 27, some 63,000 tons of enemy shipping is reported to have been damaged or sunk during the week. HUGE EXAGGERATION BERLIN ON BRITISH LOSSES. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON. June 4. A Berlin radio message claims that Britain's shipping losses from the outbreak of war to June 1, 1941, total 11,664.000 tons.
