ICE CREAM PLANT
GOING TO MIDDLE EAST SUPPLY FOR NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS. PROVIDED BY PATRIOTIC FUND. f ß.v Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Equipment which when completed, will enable ice cream to be manufactured on the spot, stored and transported to the New Zealand forces in the Middle East, has been authorised by the National Patriotic Fund Board. A contract has been let for the construction of the plant in Wellington. Besides providing ice cream, it will cool drinks. Its capacity will be 250 to 300 gallons of ice cream in an eight-hour working day and a greater quantity if required. A mobile unit will be included in the equipment, ensuring supplies being available to general hospitals, field ambulances and canteens in the forward areas.
