KILLED BY BOMB

DURING GREEK OPERATIONS WELL KNOWN MASTERTON ' SOLDIER. PRIVATE ARTHUR GOLDER. Word has been received by Mr and Mi’s W. Golder, of Masterton, from a New Zealand officer. that their son. Private Arthur Golder, was killed on April 18 at Pharsala in Greece. Deceased. who was a single man 23 .years of age. was, with a companion. Private Ken McKenzie, of Waipukurau. attacked by Gorman bombers while riding in a military truck. They got cut of the vehicle and took refuge in a riverbed but were killed by a bomb that was dropped by the Germans. The late Private Golder was formerly in the employ of Jenkins Motor Services. and was very popular with a large circle of friends. The sympathy of tiie residents of Masterton will be extended to Mr and Mrs Golder and family in their bereavement.
