The "Asahi Shimbun's” Shanghai correspondent states that British officials, including Australians, have been conferring in Hong Kong with the object of establishing powerful air bases for the joint use of British and American forces and are also considering strengthening the land route from Burma to Singapore, as well as closer means of communication with Burma and Malaya.
